Act Now to Object to Inlands Farm Development Application S/26/0173
"It's not too late to have your say and we encourage all locals and organisations to continue to submit their objections for the planing application for some 275 dwellings at Inlands farm to Swindon Borough Council.

We urge you to object to Swindon Borough Council using reference S/26/0173 either by;
- Letter to swindon Borough Coinci, Communities and Housing, Euclid Street, SN1 2JH.

We have outlined some key points attached to help you create your own objections letter on the things that are important to you, using your own words - please do not cut and paste.
It's important to recognise that this proposal sits outside the settlement boundary of Wanborough and is in conflict with the Local Plan and Strategy, and is NOT an area allocated for development and a further 275 home creep along the A419 is not a necessary, or indeed permitted, addition to the New Eastern Village (NEV) 9000+ homes selected for housing growth in Eastern Swindon.
The Southern Connector Road was designed to accommodate NEV traffic only, and additional unplanned development traffic spill-over into the narrow village roads cannot be tolerated.
The development will place yet more social infrastructure demands on schools, healthcare, social and recreational facilities that are already stretched to capacity, notwithstanding that the NEV community infrastructure plans have been delayed and are currently uncertain.  As a result, yet further home development will render the families to depend on their cars. This is not sustainable planning.
This is once again an attempt to breach multiple Swindon planning policies and strategy at Inlands Farm, and this application should be rigorously denied.
The concerted response of locals to group and successfully object to the Science & Industrial Park proposal at Inlands Farm, submitted in 2018 and finally rejected under scrutiny of the Secretary of State for planning in 2022, was the largest rally of objection and local opposition encountered in Swindon - let us do it again!

This proposal is the wrong development in the wrong place. It

  • Conflicts fundamentally with the Local Plan
  • Destroys rural separation and undermines the Area of Non-Coalescence
  • Harms the setting of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape
  • Damages heritage assets and their settings
  • Creates an unsustainable, car-dependent commuter estate
  • Worsens traffic, flooding, ecological and infrastructure pressures
  • Exacerbates cumulative impacts beyond the planned NEV growth”

3. "Annual Parish meeting 20th April, Wanborough Village Hall"

Please join us at the Annual Parish meeting on 20th April, Wanborough Village hall from 6.30pm, where the agenda includes the SSPG leading an update and discussion on the development proposal of some 275 dwellings,  700+ residents, 500+cars at Inlands Farm.

We successfully opposed a development proposal for a Science Park on Inlands farm triggered in 2018, which was completely rejected in 2022 on 10 technical planning and environmental grounds by the Secretary of State following intensive local opposition and representation.
